At 4,478 meters, the Matterhorn is one of the tallest mountains in the Alps and Europe. The high altitude and cold, wet conditions make it a challenging environment for solar, but Morningstar products are up for the task. A Prostar 15 controller works alongside two SunPower 95-W and one BP 65-W solar modules at 3,500m.

It may sound ironic, but solar power has a significant role in the oil and gas industry, largely due to the remote locations of most drilling operations. The variety of energy needs involved in oil and mining, including supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and telemetry, make solar energy a cost- effective way to provide power to production sites.

SunWize provides ruggedly designed remote power systems to ensure safety and efficiency while minimizing operation and maintenance costs. SunWize chose Morningstar’s SunKeeper controller for many of its sites because it can withstand the harsh environments of many drilling locations.

Thirty SunLight controllers used for solar street lighting at the newly constructed harbor city of Jinhae.  Lighting control was set to turn lights on at dusk and off at dawn.  Morningstar’s SunLight controllers were deployed because of their high quality reputation in harsh environments, and their easily adjustable PV-based lighting control settings.
